Special grease for installing stainless fittings. It does two things: prevents galling (seizing, cold welding) and reduces the coefficient of friction, so the torque you apply goes into clamping rather than being lost to friction.

The timing is what makes it expensive: this failure happens on first assembly, often before final torque. A seized stainless fitting has to be cut out, not undone — and on an installed line, that means remaking the joint from scratch.


Application

Four steps — and one deadline

1. Clean first

Surfaces must be clean before greasing — dirt trapped under grease still scores.

2. Apply by brush or lint-free cloth

Lint-free because fibres left behind go into the system and circulate with the oil to the filters.

3. Film all contact surfaces

Thread flanks, ferrule cone, nut face. A sufficient amount — do not pack it: excess gets pushed into the fluid, where it becomes contamination.

4. Assemble immediately

Immediately after greasing. Greased fittings left on a bench collect dust and grit — which is then dragged across exactly the surfaces you were protecting.

What does Anti-Bloc-Fett actually do?
