STAUFF tube cleaning system
The projectile is 15% bigger than the bore — and that is the whole point. Compressed air drives a foam projectile through the nozzle; because it is oversize it compresses against the tube wall and wipes the bore as it goes, expelling loose contaminants from the far end.

Why buy this system from us

  • 1/4″ to 2″ — 6 to 50 mm, and to 60 mm with the metric set.
  • Four projectile series — standard, coupling, abrasive, grinding.
  • Five nozzle sets — universal, metric, JIC, NPT.
  • The full selection tables — by hose ID and by pipe schedule.
  • We also state what it does NOT do.
  • Stock in Singapore & Malaysia — out within 24 hours.

STAUFF Tube Cleaning System

Pneumatic launcher · 1/4″–2″ (6–50 mm) · 6–8 bar
Ready stock 4 projectile series 5 nozzle sets 6–8 bar

Cleans tube, pipe and hose assemblies before they go on: a pneumatic launcher fires a foam projectile through the bore and drives out the cutting swarf, scale and loose dirt left by fabrication or a strip-down.

State the size range of your lines, the connection type, and whether the material is metal or rubber hose — quotes within 2 working hours.

⚠ Never use an abrasive or grinding projectile in rubber hose. The A and G series are for metal tube and pipe only — an abrasive pad or carborundum inside rubber hose will damage the liner.

How it works

Three components, one shot

1. Pneumatic launcher

A trigger gun with a quick-release coupler to your air supply.

2. Nozzle

Size-specific — seals against the tube or hose end, with or without fittings.

3. Foam projectile

Single-use, 15% oversize. Compresses against the wall and wipes the bore all the way through.

What it is for: new fabrication — getting cutting swarf and scale out · hose assemblies — clearing a crimped assembly before it goes on · maintenance — clearing lines during a strip-down · light rust and scale in metal tube and pipe.

What it does NOT doWhy
Not a substitute for flushingIt removes loose contamination. Suspended or bonded material still needs a flush.
Not for a blocked lineA projectile needs a path — a solid blockage stops it.
Not a pressure testCleaning a line says nothing about whether it will hold.

Projectiles

Four series — as printed

SeriesPart codeApplicationCharacteristics
StandardSC-S-07 … SC-S-60Hose/tube without end fittingsPlain foam, uniform through its length
CouplingSC-C-07 … SC-C-60Hose assemblies with fittingsShaped to pass an end fitting
AbrasiveSC-A-07 … SC-A-60Light rust/scale on metalAbrasive pad fixed to one end
GrindingSC-G-07 … SC-G-60Heavy rust and buildupCoated in carborundum for its full length

Projectiles are single-use consumables. Foam that has been compressed the length of a tube is not the size it started — and they are the cheapest part of the whole system. Use a standard-series projectile on a fitted assembly and it very likely will stop partway.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I size the projectile?

Roughly 15% larger in diameter than the inside diameter of the line. That over-size is the whole point: it compresses against the wall and wipes the bore as it travels.

What air supply do I need?

It works effectively between 85 psi (6 bar) and 120 psi (8 bar), with a compressor specification of 87–145 psi (6–10 bar) and 250–400 l/min (66–106 GPM).

Which projectile series do I need?

Standard (S) for no end fittings. Coupling (C) for hose assemblies with fittings. Abrasive (A) for light rust/scale — abrasive pad on one end. Grinding (G) for heavier rust — coated carborundum full length.

Can I use an abrasive projectile in rubber hose?

No. The abrasive and grinding series are for metal tube and pipe. An abrasive pad or carborundum inside rubber hose will damage the liner.

What size line can it handle?

1/4″ to 2″, or 6–50 mm. The universal nozzles cover that range; the metric tube set extends it to 60 mm.

Does it work on hose with crimped fittings?

Yes — that is exactly what the coupling series (C) is for. Use a standard-series projectile on a fitted assembly and it very likely will stop partway.

How many times can a projectile be used?

Treat them as single-use consumables. Foam compressed the length of a tube is not the size it started. They are the cheapest part of the system.

Which nozzle set should I buy?

Start with the SC-10UV-K: a launcher plus ten universal nozzles covering the common bores. If your work is consistently one connection type, add the matching set — metric, JIC or NPT.

Will it clear a blocked line?

No. The projectile needs a path through the bore — a solid blockage stops it. This system is for removing loose contamination from an otherwise clear line.

Do I still need to flush afterwards?

Usually yes. Mechanical cleaning removes loose material before assembly; flushing deals with suspended or bonded material and reaches the corners a projectile does not.

Is it in stock for Indonesia?

Launchers, nozzle sets and projectiles are held in our regional warehouses in Singapore and Malaysia, out within 24 hours of your PO; quotes within 2 working hours.
