Annealing gives 45–50% elongation (against the 40% minimum standard) and a fine 0.025 mm grain structure — the coil bends smoothly without wrinkling, accepts flares without splitting, and solders/brazes well. Hard copper (straight pipe) needs reheating to bend.
Refrigeration runs and tight routing: one 15 metre coil = one run with no fittings at any change of direction. For rigid risers and runs above 15 mm, straight copper pipe is the better choice.
Soldered or brazed — brazing preferred for AC and refrigeration, service up to 176 °C.
The soft temper accepts flares without splitting — the refrigerant-line standard.
Make and break without heat — for service and instrument work.
Soldering done right: measure the length · clean coil & fitting with abrasive and apply flux · heat until the solder melts fully into the capillary gap · cool until solid · clean the excess. Avoid melting excessive solder into the gap. Maintenance: rinse with soap and water (a dash of vinegar & distilled water) to prevent clogging — e.g. in AC systems.
